"Here is the thing. Yoga is not about bliss; it is about honesty...Enlightenment is not 'letting go' of bad feelings, but understanding them, what they're doing to us, and how they are expressed in the body...the goal is not to exist without shadows or become spiritual [that] we no longer feel fat, bored, envious, or impatient...the shadows will show up. Go there. Apathy and what... mystics called desolation, what existentialists call despair, moves, changes, transforms, when we move toward it." - Karin L. Burke.
May you take refuge in your Truth. In your Wholeness.
Miriam Fasoli (E-RYT 200, PRYT) offers Vinyasa Yoga, Pre/Post-natal Yoga, and Yin Yoga. She believes in listening to your body, acknowledging your thoughts, and celebrating spirit! Her yoga asana practice has helped her discover the yoking--the union--between herself and the Divine, between herself and others around her. She has practiced yoga in Boston, Houston, San Francisco, Palo Alto, and New Delhi, India. In 2011, she completed her 200-hour training at Laughing Lotus in San Francisco and embarked on the journey of sharing her love for yoga as a teacher. In 2013, Miriam studied with Jennifer (Wolfe) More in San Mateo and completed 85 hours in pre-/postnatal yoga teacher training. Miriam is honored to teach yoga to those craving to return home to their body and their breath.
Today, her love for yoga awakens compassion towards herself and others and adds color to what sometimes seem like grey days. For several years, she suffered through some intense somatic experiences, and found relief in the healing power of her yoga asana practice. Miriam has an MA in Holistic Counseling Psychology and her psychotherapy practice often informs her yoga teaching.
Yoga has taught her that there is always room for growth; there is always room for love. It has helped her realize the grounding quality of community, the nourishing quality of connection, and the truth expressed in each asana, or posture. Miriam thanks her body for being a channel for her breath; she thanks her breath for bridging her mind and body, and thanks her yoga students for co-creating an intimate and sacred space to embrace that whatever shows up in the moment and embody Truth.
